British aid worker purportedly beheaded in Islamic State video

A video purporting to show the beheading of British hostage Alan Henning has been released by Islamic State (IS) militants.


The Salford taxi driver was delivering aid to Syria in December when he was kidnapped by IS.


Dressed in an orange prison-style outfit and on his knees, Mr Henning was filmed with a masked militant standing over him wielding a knife.


Mr Henning says to the camera: "Because of our parliament's decision to attack the Islamic State, I, as a member of the British public, will now pay the price for that decision."
