Critics have panned a proposed ban on scoring, results and awards at under-10 AFL football matches, saying children need to learn to win and lose.
The AFL-developed guidelines, which are being rolled out around the nation, state that players up to 10 years of age must play modified rules games for no premiership points, no finals, no ladders, no match results (no score) and no names of players published.
But author, life coach and mother of four, Margie Warrell says children need to learn resilience and coping with failure from a young age.
