The valiant Socceroos outfit have gone down 3-0 to Spain in their final match at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Australia started the game in positive fashion, but were slowly overcome by the reigning world champions. The A-League-bound David Villa opened the scoring for the Spanish with a classy back-heel in the first half, while goals to Fernando Torres and Juan Mata later put the game beyond doubt. "It's disappointing to finish in the way we did," said Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak. "You can take some positives out of [the World Cup campaign] but overall it's not what we wanted."
