The Islamic State militant group has reportedly released a video purporting to show the beheading of captured American journalist Steven Sotloff.
A masked figure in the video also issued a threat against a British hostage the group named as David Haines, and warned governments to back off "this evil alliance of America against the Islamic State", SITE the monitoring service said.
Sotloff, 31, who disappeared in Syria last year, appeared at the end of an IS video last month showing fellow US journalist James Foley being killed.
