The daughter of an Afghan-Australian dual citizen tortured and killed by the Taliban while visiting relatives says she thought her father would be held to ransom.
The body of Sayed Habib Musawi, 56, who grew up in Helmand Province and came to Australia by boat in 2000, was found on the side of the road after he was snatched from a bus by Taliban militants.
Afghan authorities say they believe he was singled out to be murdered because he was Australian.
His daughter Kubra said some family members were aware her father had been captured, but hoped he would be ransomed.
